Here we have provided a list of helpful resources and sites that we recommend for various reasons.  

US|ARK

USARK is an invaluable organization that works hard to keep the reptile keeping trade free from undue and unfair government intrusion. Too many times we have seen animals banned and, in many cases, removed from their loving owners, simply out of fear or ignorance (or often both). USARK works to keep that from happening by lobbying against laws and regulations that would harm the reptile trade. They keep up with legislation at both the federal and state level, and send out email and social media alerts when it's time to contact your representatives in state or federal houses, to urge them not to take away your rights as a reptile keeper. 

At E. B. Exotics, we are proud members of US|ARK and support them with a paid annual membership. To help incentivize others doing so, we actually offer discounts to our customers that are USARK members. For any reptile we sell to any active USARK members, we offer 5% off. Proving USARK membership is pretty easy: you can log into the USARK website and go to Memberships → Manage account → Subscriptions. Just show us a screenshot with your active membership and we’ll apply the discount! This includes brand new members who sign up just so they can get a discount. (As a means of example, if you're buying an $1,800 hognose, that discount would be $90, which is more than twice the cost of a Bronze USARK membership at $40).

The Bio Dude

The Bio Dude is by far the most prominent supplier of bio active supplies in North America (possibly the world, but we can't say for certain). Josh Halter (aka "The Dude") runs the whole Houston-based business and is a great guy to work with. His whole operation is built on helping people establish habitats for their animals that are the most natural environments for the animals they can be. From substrate to plants to all sorts of other hard goods, all can be purchased either at their Houston retail store or online. At E. B. Exotics, our permanent enclosures for nearly all of our reptiles are set up using Bio Dude supplies. There are many videos and other resources on the Dude's website that can help you get started with bio active habitat setup.

Exotic Vet Locator

All pet owners know that the V-E-T can be a four-letter word when spoken in the ears of your pets. While most pets do not love the vet - just as most people do not love the hospital - vets are nonetheless a crucial contact to have. If you are a reptile keeper and you do not know of any local exotic vet, we urge you to check the ARAV website and ensure you can locate an exotic vet near you. We hope you never need them, but they are invaluable to be connected with if ever you do.
